Meet Monique
Behind the Practice
I’m Monique Mostert, a Registered Psychometrist (Independent Practice) with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I hold a BA degree in Psychology, a BA Honours degree in Psychology, and a BPsych Equivalent in Psychometry.
With over 8 years of diverse experience in the field of psychology, my journey has been shaped by both academic training and practical, hands-on experience.
I’ve had the privilege of working in private practice alongside a Clinical Psychologist, where I gained deep insight and understanding of clients’ unique needs. This environment greatly shaped my career and continues to influence how I approach my work today.
I’m passionate about making psychometry more accessible, relevant, and empowering for individuals from all walks of life. Whether working with learners, students, parents, or adults, I aim to provide ethical, professional, and client-centred services that foster self-understanding and personal growth.
In addition to one-on-one assessments, I also develop practical digital tools and resources to support learning, self-awareness, and career development — designed for individuals, educators, and professionals alike.
As part of my commitment to continuous learning and professional development, I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Psychology (dissertation) at the University of South Africa (UNISA). My research dissertation explores parricide, defined as the killing of a parent by their child, among children and young adults in South Africa. This is a relatively under-researched topic within the South African context, and I hope my research will contribute to a greater understanding of this complex phenomenon while further strengthening my professional knowledge and practice.
